Frogurt, Fro-Yo, The Frozen One, Frogo Baggins, or just plain Neil, this character from Lost has captured the hearts and intrigued the minds of anybody who has seen or heard of him.  So this brings us to our first question:
Who is Frogurt?
The date of April 3rd, 2006 will some day be known as the most pertinent day in Lost history.  On this day, during the Official Lost Podcast, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof first made mention of Neil "Frogurt."  He was described as one of the yet-unidentified survivors who would soon become more "interesting." After several episodes with no new characters, the promise was repeated on July 26, 2007 at the Comic Con 2007 at San Diego.

He was mentioned in the episode "S.O.S." but remained unseen.   Neil was amoung the volunteers who tried to help Bernard build the S.O.S sign. He soon, abandoned him after losing interest.  After that episode he became somewhat of a running joke with the producers and many fans wondered if he were indeed real. Lost fans began to call him "The Frozen One".

Neil's actual last name is not yet confirmed.  Bernard referred to him as "the guy who used to make frozen yogurt," so Frogurt is most liekly an occupational nickname.

Frogurt was finally seen in a "Missing Piece" episode ("Hurley and Frogurt"). When Hurley calls him "Frogurt", he corrects that with "Neil".  Please watch the video below and witness Frogurt's dramatic debut.  I think we can all agree that the appearance of Frogurt was well worth the wait.
"Its Neil Time, Now And Forever"
I think we all can agree how Frogurt comes off as daunting and malevolent.  You can see the evil in his eyes and hear it in his voice.  It's clear that he is trying intimidate Hurly with mind games and name calling.  This is clearly forshadowing which brings us to the second part of this website:
Frogurt is Jacob
Okay, I know what you're thinking.  This is some sort of joke.  How could Frogurt be Jacob?  The whole notion of that is ridiculous.  Well, hear me out.

About two weeks ago I found myself at LAX with a four hour layover between flights.  Without going into two much detail with respect to actors' privacy, lets just say I ran into Sean Whalen, the actor who plays Neil "Frogurt."  I recognized him immediately from the Missing Pieces webisode but I have always been a fan of his work as a character actor (my personal favorite was his role in the Hebrew Hammer.)

Well I struck up a conversation with him and he was a super nice guy.  We talked about his career but the conversation quickly turned to Lost.  I remember I said something like "I bet that's you in the casket."  He chuckled and then got very quiet, almost angry.  I apoligized but he assured me that it wasn't me.  Then he started going on and on about the show alluding the fact that Frogurt would "have his day."  I won't go into detail about the rest of the conversation in case Sean is under contract not to reveal certain information.  He was after all, nice enough to keep me company for a while.

When I finally got home I became really interested in this Frogurt guy.  I began a week long, in-depth research session looking for any information I could get my hands on.  I even went as far as calling Mr. Whalen's SAG Talent Agency (Ellis Talent Group).  Although I never got a hold of his agent I did get some information out of a few people.  Perstinstence paid off.

Here are the results of my research conclusively proving that Neil Frogurt is Jacob.

I found several instances where either Lindelof, Abrams, or Leiber, have made allusions to the fact that Jacob may be a shape shifter.  If you recall, this is why many fans thought Ben or Mikhail could possibly be Jacob.  We now know that they are not Jacob.

What about Neil, if Jacob was going to take human form wouldn’t he infiltrate the survivors of the crash rather than the others who know about him.

It’s pretty apparent that Frogurt is evil and malicious from the clip.  This is obvious foreshadowing of things to come.

The missing piece took place at the time Libby was about to get shot by Michael, so Neil was the obstacle that could have prevented Hurley from saving her.  Perhaps this was planned all along, Libby wasn't on his list.

Libby has been signed on for more than one episode meaning she will appear in multiple flash backs...perhaps a Frogurt flashback.

His character has been approached in secret by The Others.

Let's just say I know for a fact that Sean Whalen was on set for several of the episodes in season 3, including the episode where Jacob is revealed ("The Man Behind the Curtain").

Jacob was portrayed by prop master Rob Kyker for the filming of this particular episode so the real physical Jacob has not been revealed.

The statement "Its Neil Time, Now And Forever." is haunting.

Okay, so these are just my teasers.  More of my research will be revealed in weeks leading up to the debut of Lost.  Check back for more updates.
